Dive Systems was established in Malta in 1978 and boasts of excellent safety and friendly service records. A team of dedicated, experienced and friendly instructors and assistants ensures maximum satisfaction and safe diving.

Dive Systems, one of the first dive centres in Malta, is run by Louis and Paul Sciberras who have 30 years experience in the diving industry. In 2004 Dive Systems relocated to a purpose-built diver training facility. The new premises, just a few minutes walk from the town centre, are centrally located on the promenade in Sliema which is the leading holiday resort in Malta.

Opening Times
Dive Systems operates all the year round from Monday to Saturday, however opening hours are fairly flexible and arrangements can be made for Night dives as well as dives on Sundays and Public Holiday diving.

Winter - 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Summer - 8.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

Location
We are located at the water’s edge on the promenade in the centre of Sliema, a prime tourist centre with about 20,000 residents. It is a modern town with many hotels, cafes restaurants and a good shopping centre. It is also very close to the capital city Valletta (approx. 1 KM) and St. Julians, Paceville known for its cinemas, Casino, amusement halls discotheques and bars and restaurants( approx. 2 KM)

Non diving family or friends
These can relax on the beach area from which they can watch the day's activities. There is also a children’s playground and a public garden within a radius of 200 metres. Various restaurants and snack bars are within easy reach.

Dive Systems is a government registered school and a member of the Professional Diving Schools Association.

Introductory Diving Courses
Get a taste of diving through a discover scuba diving session which includes tuition, equipment and underwater training by an experienced instructor. This session can be credited towards the Open Water course if you decide to continue! If you simply want to get wet and see marine life or embark on a lifetime of adventure, this program is ideal!

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING (DOUBLE DIVE)

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it. Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable in the water. Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step. This is what you will do...

(c) Dive 1, around 30 minutes in shallow confined water max 6m and completing some basic skills
(d) Dive 2, around 30 minutes in deeper water max 12m, just exploring around! You can gain credit towards the PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Scuba Diver course, or carry on and do repeat dives with us for the rest of your holiday.

DURATION: 1/2 DAY (morning or afternoon)
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age 10 years.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING (SINGLE DIVE)

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
This is what you will do...
(a) Dive Briefing
(b)Equipment use & Briefing
(c) Dive 1, around 30 mins in shallow confined water max 6m and completing some basic skills

DURATION: 2 Hrs (approx depending on weather conditions)

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age 10 years.

SCUBA DIVER

Short on time? Want to learn to dive? If you do not have time for the full PADI Open Water Course then the Scuba Diver Course offers the perfect solution. Certifying you to a depth of 12 under the guidance of a PADI professional an extra 2 day course on any further holiday will upgrade you to the full Open Water certification.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Combining dive theory, skills training and open water diving, this course is conducted by one of our highly experienced and enthusiastic instructor. You will use our purpose built training facilities, located right opposite our dive centre in the open sea.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
You will be qualified to 12m and need to dive under the direct supervision of an Instructor.

DURATION: 2 – 3 days

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age 10 and ability to swim 200m unaided and without stopping.

OPEN WATER DIVER

If scuba diving has ever appealed to you then the internationally recognized, PADI Open Water Certification is the way to accomplish your goal. The crystal clear and warm waters of the Malta combined with the beautiful reefs and stunning visibility & fish life make learning to dive a pleasure and easy!

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Combining diving theory, skills training and open water diving, this course is conducted by our highly experienced and enthusiastic instructors using our purpose built facilities right opposite the dive centre in the open sea!

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
You will be qualified to 18m depth and are able to dive with a buddy independently. (not in Malta, need to be atleast Advanced open water level due to Maltese diving regulations).

DURATION: 4–5 days

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum age 10 and ability to swim 200m unaided and without stopping.

OPEN WATER DIVER PRIVATE TUITION

If you like the finer things in life, a more personal service or simply the ability to be able to learn at your own pace the Private PADI Open Water Course is the perfect solution. Being alone on a course enables you to receive 100% of the instructor’s time and will allow the course to be adapted around other excursions. If solitude is not your thing, you can always get a friend to learn with you.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Combining diving theory, skills training and open water diving, this course is conducted by our highly experienced and enthusiastic instructors using our purpose built facilities right opposite the dive centre in the open sea!

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
You will be qualified to 18m depth and are able to dive with a buddy independently. (not in Malta, need to be at least Advanced open water level due to Maltese diving regulations).

DURATION: 4 – 5 days

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum age 10 and ability to swim 200m unaided and without stopping .

OPEN WATER REFERRAL

The confined sessions and theory of the Open Water course can be started at any dive centre and the Open Water dives may be completed with us. This is a perfect way of doing the fun dives whilst you are on holiday without having to do any theory as this is already done beforehand! This leaves you with more time to dive and maybe joing in one of our furthering education courses!

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Upon verification of your progress from your previous instructor you will complete your open water dives, either on our house reef or out on one of the many shore or boat dives around the Maltese islands!

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
You will be qualified to 18m depth and are able to dive with a buddy independently. (not in Malta, need to be at least Advanced open water level due to Maltese diving regulations).

DURATION: 2-3 days

REQUIREMENTS: Have proof of completing all required theory sessions and confined water exercises Minimum age 10 and ability to swim 200m unaided and without stopping.

DIVEMASTER

Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities. During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve their diving. You put this knowledge into action through a structured internship or series of practical training exercises.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
As a PADI Divemaster you’ll be a member of PADI, the world’s largest and most respected diver training organization. As a PADI Member you receive regular mailings of information, standards changes and industry alerts in addition to ‘The Undersea Journal’. After becoming certified as a PADI Divemaster you will be authorized to: Supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organizing and directing dives, Assist a PADI Instructor during the training sessions for any PADI Diver course, Teach PADI Emergency First Response courses after successfully completing a PADI Emergency First Response Instructor Course.

DURATION: 2 - 4 weeks

REQUIREMENTS: 18 years old. A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization). A PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization). A PADI Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organization) course completion within the past 24 months. Have at least 20 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification. Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
